What Pole Instructors are Saying about the Course

This was an extremely informative course. I loved the incorporation of sport science as it relates to pole.

Overall, it built my confidence and showed me how these principles absolutely belong in a dancey sport like pole.

Most courses teach spotting and tricks, but something always felt missing.

This one gave me anatomy, biomechanics, assessments, and tools to keep students from f*cking up their bodies.

I want to teach as long as I can, and this course gave me the tools to do that.

The training principles, assessments, and prehab/rehab videos were more detailed than I expected—and I use them in my warm-ups now.

Who am I?

If this is our first time meeting, Hi!

My name is Dr. Emily Rausch.

I'm a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician who specializes in pole dancers. I've been pole dancing for almost 7 years (March 27th is my pole-anniversary). I combine my doctor brain with my pole dancer experience to help pole dancers learn how to not f*ck up their bodies and help them unf*ck them when they do.

When I started pole dancing, I had no idea it would end up being such a major part of my identity.

I was in chiropractic school when signed up for my first taster class. Like a lot of pole dancers, I quickly became obsessed. One class turned in to a pack of 10 turned into an unlimited membership.

This quick progression, coupled with sub-optimal training methods (turns out taking more classes isn’t necessarily better), I found myself laying on the studio floor with a dislocated shoulder.

As I underwent the frustrating and tedious journey of injury rehab, I swore to myself that I would do everything in my power to keep another pole dancer from having to go through what I went through.

The judgemental looks when I shared I was a pole dancer. The confusion about what I needed my shoulder to be able to do. The “then don’t do that” comments.

From this experience, I shifted my focus from general sports medicine to specializing in the reduction and treatment of pole dancer injuries.

What people are saying

I found this so valuable. Especially the sections about nutrition and rest. It is really difficult to get a student to slow down once they get excited to try new things and this taught me how to explain it to them properly. I will highly recommend this to others going forward.

A few pluses & great add on’s that I was not expecting in such detail that you provided was the training principals, assessing a student’s capacity for movement, & addressing limitations. It makes sense to have these topics in this course, but I was not anticipating all of the exercise/prehab/rehab videos you provided which was great! Since this was reviewed initially, I have utilized a lot of those exercises in my warm ups during class. For the training principals, this is helpful especially for the ones who don’t know where to start so me as an instructor having that information is so valuable to share with my students in the event they truly want to nail a certain pole move.

I thought this was an extremely informative course. I loved the incorporation of sport science as it relates to pole dancing. I was finishing my NASM certification at the same time and this was a great review for that and really touched on pole specific things I have not encountered in other trainings.
